Councilmember John McCann continues to bring our community together & keep our neighborhoods safe.  John added additional Police patrols to fight crime, successfully fought for an additional fire engine company to protect our families & creating more jobs with the new Millenia High Tech Center & new Marriott hotels.

Councilmember John McCann has held & participated in over 100 community meetings bringing the community together & resolving their issues.  John McCann has been a leader in reinvesting in our neighborhoods to improve our quality of life. John McCann continues to be an advocate for us at city hall, in our schools & at the regional level.

John McCann grew up in Chula Vista and attended all grades from kindergarten through 12th grade at Chula Vista schools. His father served 28 years as a Naval Officer and did two tours in Vietnam before he retired at the rank of Captain. John’s mother has worked at Rohr Industries/Goodrich Aerospace for over 27 years. John McCann's grandfather served proudly in the Navy during World War II. John McCann currently serves in the Navy Reserve. John McCann joined as a member of the enlisted ranks and was later commissioned as a Naval Officer.  John McCann recently returned from a tour of active duty in Iraq, serving in Mosul, Iraq for one year.
